چکیده

Seven fungal species (Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus versicolor, flavus, fumigatus, Rhizomucor pusillus, Trichophyton equinum and Rhizopus oryzae) were isolated from the tannery effluent collected at a industry located Challawa industrial estate of Kano State, Nigeria. niger had highest percentage occurrence frequency 36% (31) while least 4% (5). Consequently, recorded mean tolerance indices 1.175, 0.830, 0.580, 0.780 0.630 pusillus 0.675, 0.375, 0.346, 0.450 0.255 for chromium, cadmium, manganese lead respectively. Accordingly, furthermore minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) biomass yield seven tested fungi isolates cultured in presence five heavy metals used this study showed different level growth pattern. Hence high resistant potentials to selected exhibited by is an indication that indigenous floral if properly harnessed may offer feasible solution serious environmental pollution problems associated with effluent.
